A GUIDE TO PHOTOGRAPHY:
ITS HISTORY, THE JARGON AND THE MARKET
The ALlbright Mayfair
November 14, 2019
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Despite today's proliferation of photographic images, photography is still a relatively young medium. However, the market for art photography has been on the increase since the 1980's and is no way near as high-risk as the contemporary art market.
The AllBright brings together a panel of specialists to discuss the importance of photography, its history and role in the today's art world, to explain photographic processes and demystify the language of the marketplace.
The panel is chaired by AllBright curator, Beth Greenacre who welcomes Katy Barron, a curator and consultant with over 20 years' experience advising private clients on collecting photography, Brandei Estes, Director & Head of Photographs at Sotheby's and Kathlene Fox-Davies, Co-Founder & Director of Black Box Projects, a gallery committed to working with artists who push the limits of traditional photographic practice.
